Steve Bromka added that there are Product Planning electives available through the LRC University for which he will provide more information. LEF Liaison: Mike Ryskamp reported the Chapter’s contribution of $500 for LEF and suggested we make a larger donation next year. He hopes the chapter will consider this as the SOLE organization is an "education tool." Recently people have inquired about the paperwork for LEF application and he has helped them.
Programs: Ron Fulton reported that the Sheraton is reserved for our luncheons up thru Dec 08. Rich O’Donnell reported that we have tentative speakers scheduled to give presentations on Flexible Computer Integrated Manufacturing (FCIM) , and Battle Command Logistics at our upcoming summer luncheons. Reports of Committees :Symposium :Ken East reported, and all committee members agreed, that the Symposium which took place on 13 May 08 was a great success, one of the "best ever." The chapter received favorable feedback that it was very informative and Ken pointed out that Government employees who were in attendance earned 8 continuous learning points (CLPs) toward their required training. Government Affairs :Linda Chapurtinov informed the committee that all transactions resulting from the Symposium were processed through SOLE Hqs. She reported that the event was a great experience for her and that she will bring to Aberdeen SOLE Chapter what she has learned when she becomes a member there this summer. Industrial Affairs Cmte. Anne St. Germaine reported that there were a good number of industry people at the Symposium and she enjoyed registering them at the reception table. She has a list of names of those people who did not get the token gifts that will be given out at a later date. Newsletter :Rich O’Donnell discussed newsletter criteria. Bill Hogelin and Steve Bromka will meet to put together the publication format for the next year’s newsletter chairperson. Publicity :Steve Bromka reported that once he gets the CD of photographs from the Symposium, he will publish them to the Garden State chapter’s website. New Business :Rich O’Donnell reported that the next event is the election luncheon which is scheduled for 1 Jul 2008. A slate of officers will be presented when known. Mr. O’Donnell is actively seeking replacements for next years SOLE Chairpersons as he, Ron Fulton and Linda Chapurtinov are stepping down. The committee was unhappy to hear this but wish them the very best in all their endeavors and thank them for their hard work and dedication to SOLE. Other committee members are volunteering for chapter positions different than what are presently held and Mr. O’Donnell will be coordinating with the new candidates to establish a ballot for the upcoming election and fill these vacancies as well.
Rich O’Donnell suggested that the Recognition Dinner, which will take place in September, be held at the Salt Creek Grille. All committee members agreed as it was held there last year and was very a very nice affair. Adjournment: Motion to adjourn was made by K. East and seconded by B. McLean. The meeting was adjourned at 1:00. Respectfully submitted: Jeannie Allerton Chapter Secretary
