Chapter Chair, convened a regular meeting of the Chapter's Management
Committee at 11:45 a.m., on 12 Feb 09, at LogSec Corp in Attendees: Bill Hogelin, Ken
East, Ken Brockel, Bill McLean, Ann St. Germaine, Jeannie Allerton Reports of Officers: Reports were

Winter/Spring Networking Party Administration: The minutes from
the last meeting were read by Jeannie Allerton. Ken East made a motion to
accept the minutes as read and Ann St. Germaine seconded the motion. Finance: Bob reported that
our expenses for our 17 Feb luncheon were less that what was budgeted.
Overall we are ahead of budget which is attributable to a networking social which was
budgeted for January, but may take place in Mar or Apr 09 instead.
Membership: Bill McLean stated
that we now have 182 active Chapter members, with 2 renewals in Feb. Education: Major Paul
McCullough submitted a report regarding the workshop that was presented by
Enlogex, Inc. at CSC, Computer Sciences Corporation located at
LEF Liaison: At the February
17th luncheon, $65 was donated to the LEF. Programs: The
speaker at our Feb 17th luncheon
was Dr. Richard
Wittstruck. His talk
entitled “How Do We Sustain an
Enterprise In Netcentric Operations” was very well received and brought on
many questions from the audience. At our board meeting Bill Hogelin,
Chapter Chair, thanked Donna
McCabe and Tresa Murphy for helping
at the SOLE luncheons, filling in for Rich Nichols as Program Chair.
Jennifer Reed, Chief, Communications Electronics Evaluation
Repair Team (CEER-T) is scheduled to be the speaker for the March luncheon. Reports of Committees: Symposium: The 31st SOLE
Symposium will take place on Tuesday, May 12th, at the Sheraton Eatontown. Ken
East reported that the theme will be “Life Cycle Logistics: Accomplishments
and Challenges.” The keynote
speaker scheduled is Mr. Randy Fowler, Assistant Deputy Under Secretary of
Defense (Materiel Readiness). We
also anticipate a speaker from the Army
Logistics Innovation Agency. Some
of the topics hoped to be presented are on Single Army Logistics Enterprise
(SALE), and the AN/GRM-122,
the Radio Test System which is used to
verify, test and repair the SINCGARS Radios.
Awards: A
Certificate of Appreciation was presented by Bill Hogelin, Chapter Chair,
to Dr. Richard Wittstruck, Chief
Systems Engineer, USA PEO IEW&S at the 17 Jan 09 luncheon for his
presentation entitled “How Do We Sustain an Enterprise In Netcentric
Operations.” Government Affairs. Bill
Hogelin reported that Sabrina Fowler-Turner may be able to help organize a
social for sometime in March or April 09. Industrial Affairs Committee: Bill Hogelin reported that
Teresa Brown has been doing a great job of sending out the luncheon notices,
taking the reservations, manning the desk, collecting the money, and tallying
the number at attendees each month. He
appreciates Sabrina Turner, Ann St Germaine and Donna McCabe for helping
Teresa at the registration desk.
Newsletter: Ann St. Germaine,
who has been doing a very professional job, passed out the current newsletter.
Publicity. Ken East asked that
we begin to advertise the Symposium now, that it’s not too early to ask
people to save the date of 12 May 09. Old Business: CML course needs to
be postponed from Winter to Spring/Summer 2009.
All board members in attendance agreed. New Business: Bob Featheringham made a motion by email to contribute $1000 to the AFCEA
Brookdale College Fair. Ken East
seconded the motion. All board members present were in favor. At the board meeting Ken Brockel gave a presentation on the AFCEA C4ISR
Technology Center of the Forestburg Scout Reservation which is part of the Boy
Scout Monmouth County. AFCEA
of Fort Monmouth donates thousands of dollars each year to the technology
center. Many donations have also come from parents, scout leaders, and
community members. These donations continue to allow the technology center to
maintain a learning environment for the scouts in atomic
energy, electricity, electronics and radio, space exploration, computers and
ham radio at the Forestburg camp in Port Jervis, Adjournment: Motion to adjourn
was made by Ken East and seconded by Bill McLean. The meeting was adjourned at
