Major Paul McCullough submitted a report regarding the workshop that was presented by Enlogex, Inc. at CSC, Computer Sciences Corporation located at 15 Christopher Way , Eatontown , NJ   07724 .  It was very productive and he thanks Al Viola and his team for their support. He also reported that we are in the final planning stages for a Distinguished Logistician (DL) workshop to be held on 24 Mar 09, from 1730-1830, at the same address as above.  Finally, at this time we anticipate to have a start date for the CML prep course sometime in the Spring or Summer 2009.  Ken East has bought the books for it through Ebay.

LEF Liaison:

At the February 17th luncheon, $65 was donated to the LEF.

Programs:

The speaker at our Feb 17th luncheon was Dr. Richard Wittstruck.  His talk entitled “How Do We Sustain an Enterprise In Netcentric Operations” was very well received and brought on many questions from the audience. At our board meeting Bill Hogelin, Chapter Chair,  thanked Donna McCabe and Tresa Murphy for helping at the SOLE luncheons, filling in for Rich Nichols as Program Chair.    Jennifer Reed, Chief, Communications Electronics Evaluation Repair Team (CEER-T) is scheduled to be the speaker for the March luncheon.

The 31st SOLE Symposium will take place on Tuesday, May 12th, at the Sheraton Eatontown.  Ken East reported that the theme will be “Life Cycle Logistics: Accomplishments and Challenges.”  The keynote speaker scheduled is Mr. Randy Fowler, Assistant Deputy Under Secretary of Defense (Materiel Readiness).  We also anticipate a speaker from the Army Logistics Innovation Agency.  Some of the topics hoped to be presented are on Single Army Logistics Enterprise (SALE), and the AN/GRM-122, the Radio Test System which is used  to verify, test and repair the SINCGARS Radios.

Industrial Affairs Committee:  Bill Hogelin reported that Teresa Brown has been doing a great job of sending out the luncheon notices, taking the reservations, manning the desk, collecting the money, and tallying the number at attendees each month.  He appreciates Sabrina Turner, Ann St Germaine and Donna McCabe for helping Teresa at the registration desk.

Newsletter:

Ann St. Germaine, who has been doing a very professional job, passed out the current newsletter.

Publicity.

Ken East asked that we begin to advertise the Symposium now, that it’s not too early to ask people to save the date of 12 May 09.

Old Business:

CML course needs to be postponed from Winter to Spring/Summer 2009.  All board members in attendance agreed.

New Business:

Bob Featheringham made a motion by email to contribute $1000 to the AFCEA Brookdale College Fair.  Ken East seconded the motion. All board members present were in favor.

At the board meeting Ken Brockel gave a presentation on the AFCEA C4ISR Technology Center of the Forestburg Scout Reservation which is part of the Boy Scout Monmouth County.  AFCEA of Fort Monmouth donates thousands of dollars each year to the technology center. Many donations have also come from parents, scout leaders, and community members. These donations continue to allow the technology center to maintain a learning environment for the scouts in atomic energy, electricity, electronics and radio, space exploration, computers and ham radio at the Forestburg camp in Port Jervis, New York . Bob Featheringham made a motion by email that the SOLE Garden State Chapter contribute $1000 to the Boy Scout Technology Center.  It was seconded by Ken East.  All other board members present were in favor.  A motion to donate $2000 more was denied at this time.

Motion to adjourn was made by Ken East and seconded by Bill McLean. The meeting was adjourned at 1:15.
