The minutes of the last committee meeting of 13 Nov 08 were read and accepted.

Bob Featheringham submitted the Treasurer’s Report which was accepted, subject to final audit. In order to accommodate the Sheraton price increase for luncheons, Bob revamped the budget and developed a new cash flow model that reflects this.

He reported that in formulating the budget he does not count the cost of luncheons for May, Jun, Jul, and Aug and does include the cost of attendance at the National Symposium that takes place in August.

MAJ McCullough has assisted our chapter in sponsoring a four session workshop for SOLE members from14 January to 04 February 2009. It will be presented by ENLOGEX, Inc. at CSC, Computer Sciences Corporation located at 15 Christopher Way, Eatontown, NJ 07724. The workshop is free to Sole members; $150.00 for non-members. The course will cover the following subjects: Supportability in Equipment Design, Development of Procurement Packages, and Item Unique Identification (IUID), Materiel Release. A flyer will be sent out to notify all members.

Regarding the upcoming CML Course, Ken East reported that the book entitled "The Management of Business Logistics-A Supply Chain Perspective" by Coyle, Bardi and Langley-7th edition, will be used as the foundation for the course material.

At the 18 November luncheon a total amount of $97.00 was donated to LEF.

Rich Nichols is pleased with the turn out at our luncheons. He asked all committee members to please jump in and help when we see that one of us needs help to get the luncheon started. Our speaker at the 18 November luncheon was Mr.Robert Lamanna, Chief, Business Development Division, Tobyhanna Army Depot. He gave a very informative presentation on "Industrial Base Strategic Initiative – Where Capabilities and Readiness Meet" which was very well received. The next luncheon is scheduled for 16 Dec 08 and the guest speaker will be Robert J. Goodwin, Logistics Management Specialist, CECOM LRC LEO, Topic: Left Behind Equipment: CECOM’s Piece of Maintenance and Supply Management.

Ken East reported that the Symposium will take place on Tuesday, 12 May 09, not Wed, 13 May 09, as previously scheduled. He was pleased to announce that the keynote speaker will be Mr. Randy Fowler, Assistant Deputy Under Secretary of Defense (Materiel Readiness).

A certificate of appreciation was presented by Bill Hogelin, Chapter Chair, to Mr. Robert Lamanna, Chief, Business Development Division, Tobyhanna Army Depot at the 18 Nov 08 luncheon for his presentation of "Industrial Base Strategic Initiative."

Ann St. Germaine has come up with a nice idea to have an "Executive Board Member of the Month" publicized in each newsletter. As a result, Rich Nichols, Vice Chair for Professional Development, was highlighted in the November 09 issue and MAJ McCullough, Vice Chair for Education, was highlighted in the October 09 issue.

In order to provide widespread publication of the newsletter, Bill Hogelin suggested and all agreed that they be emailed to the folks listed on the luncheon mailing list.

Date set for the next chapter committee meeting is 8 Jan 09.

Motion to adjourn was made by Ken East and seconded by Bob Featheringham. The meeting was adjourned at 1:00.
